There is a saying that goes “Painting chooses you, you don’t choose painting”, and this is what happened to me.
I applied to join a painting course which I thought would be on;y one night a week, and found that I had some how applied for full time study. I decided to see how I would go and this lead to a degree in Fine Art at RMIT and then a Masters degree at UNSW. Somehow painting had found me and I felt I had found my life’s purpose. I studied Fresco painting in Italy and at the moment show at “45downstairs” in Flinders Lane and Mario’s Café in Brunswick street.
In 2003 I studied Indigenous spirituality with the Shuar Indians in Ecuadorian Amazon which has had a huge influence on my thinking and attitude towards our western perspective of life.
For this exhibition I shall show a variety of works in oils, soft pastels and Fresco.
