Colour and light – for the majority of us, elements we live with everyday. I believe, in most instances, we take our ability to see these things for granted, and in a life that is constantly on fast forward, rarely take the time to stop and appreciate the beauty that we are a part of.
Capturing the essence of this beauty has long been a passion of mine and to be able to commit to film my interpretation of colour and light is a humbling pleasure.
Photography has given me the tools and the ability to ‘play’ with these natural elements, often creating a painterly style which belies what our eyes actually see before the shutter is fired.
All the work in this exhibition, with the exception of one piece, has been taken on film and hand printed without the use of digital manipulation.
My photography is and will continue to be, a constant exploration of colour and light.
