| HEALING: |
In western culture, teaching and healing are often seen as two distinct applications of knowledge, whereas in Buddhist practice such distinctions dissolve. The mind is itself the source of much sorrow and illness which can be healed when we learn to apply the Buddha's compassion to others and to ourselves.
Tendar has helped many people. Tendar sees helping and healing the community as a substantial part of his teaching. He will help anyone who asks!
See below for examples and testimonials.
| Healing Ceremony August 2007 |
| |
The Healing ceremony on 19/08/2007 was requested because of sickness amongst EACH staff at the site and was conducted by Aunty Janet and Tendar. Tendar spoke movingly about his respect for the spiritual culture of Indigenous Australians and the shared experience of loss of country.
A boomerang painted by Aunty Irene Wangudu O'Loughlin, Narungga was taken by Tendar to Tibet and handed over in what I hear was a very moving ceremony as a symbol of the link between the two countries. |
